Eight anime series with a femboy as a lead or main recurring character, and where to watch each one legally in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, India, Indonesia and Brazil.
For the characters themselves, ranked and written up, see our femboy anime characters list. For comics, there's the femboy manga list. This page is for finding the show.
One thing has changed since most other lists were written: Crunchyroll no longer has a free tier. It ended on 31 December 2025, so every Crunchyroll show below needs a paid plan.
Where to stream, by country
Checked on 12 October 2026. "CR" is Crunchyroll; a dash means we found no official way to stream it there.

Which service to pick
- Crunchyroll is paid-only since 1 January 2026, from $9.99 a month in the US with a seven-day trial. It operates in India, Indonesia and Brazil with local pricing, and there it's the only legal home for most of this list.
- Netflix is the simple answer if you already have it: Stone Ocean everywhere, and more of this list in India and Indonesia than in the US.
- Muse Asia on YouTube is free and licensed in South and Southeast Asia, and has streamed Re:Zero. YouTube shows different playlists in different countries, so check it from where you are.
- HIDIVE, Disney+ Hotstar and Bilibili had none of these eight when we checked.
Paying for these, or using a free licensed channel, is how more shows like them get licensed. Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens and Drifters both streamed when they first aired, and both have lost those homes since.
The eight series
- Princess Jellyfish (2010, 11 episodes): Kuranosuke, a politician's son who wears women's clothes because he loves them, helps a house of otaku women save their building. Funny and warm; the one to start with. Crunchyroll almost everywhere, Sony LIV in India, nothing official in the UK.
- Marriagetoxin (2026, 13 episodes): Kinosaki, a marriage swindler who works dressed as a woman, coaches an assassin through dating. Season two is due in January 2027. Crunchyroll in all seven countries, with Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubs; also Netflix in Indonesia.
- Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens (2018, 12 episodes): Lin, a hitman in a skirt who works a ramen stall between jobs, in a Fukuoka crime caper. The hardest show here to watch legally: buy it on Amazon in the UK, nothing elsewhere.
- Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World (2016–): Felix, a Royal Knight and the kingdom's finest healer, in frills and his own cat ears, from episode 12. Long and dark; Felix supports, he doesn't lead. Crunchyroll everywhere, all four seasons; Hulu (season 1) in the US; Netflix and Sony LIV in parts of Asia.
- Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle – Rhyme Anima (2020, 2023): Ramuda, a 24-year-old designer in oversized pastels, leads the Shibuya rap crew. Loud on purpose, good music. Crunchyroll in all seven countries, subtitles only; Sony LIV in India.
- Drifters (2016, 12 episodes): Yoichi, the legendary archer, nineteen, long-haired and taken for a woman, is one of three leads in a very violent fantasy war. No subscription anywhere: buy it on Apple TV in the US, UK and Canada.
- JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean (2021–2022, 38 episodes): Anasui, twenty-five, pretty, intense and alarming, joins Jolyne's prison break. Netflix in all seven countries, the easiest show here to find.
- Tokyo Ghoul (2014–2018): Juuzou, an androgynous ghoul hunter who grows into a squad leader in :re. Gory horror. Crunchyroll for the whole franchise in the US; elsewhere :re on Crunchyroll, and Netflix in the UK, India and Indonesia.
Each of these characters is written up in full on our femboy anime characters list.
Close, but not on the list
- Fruits Basket (2019): Ritsu Sohma is an adult, but a minor character, and the lead is in high school.
- Fushigi Yûgi (1995): Nuriko is eighteen, but the heroine and central romance are a fifteen-year-old's.
- GetBackers (2002): Kazuki doesn't dress femininely, and HIDIVE dropped the series in June 2026.
- Pet Shop of Horrors and Mononoke: neither lead has an age or is clearly human.
- Tiger & Bunny: Fire Emblem is described as nonbinary in the second season, a different thing from a femboy.
Questions people ask
Where should I start?
Princess Jellyfish: eleven episodes, funny and kind, and on Crunchyroll almost everywhere. For more action, Marriagetoxin next, also on Crunchyroll.
Which femboy anime are on Netflix?
Stone Ocean, in every country we checked. In India and Indonesia Netflix also has some of Re:Zero and Tokyo Ghoul, and in Indonesia Marriagetoxin. Fate/Apocrypha used to be, but Netflix dropped it at the end of March 2026.
Where can I stream Fate/Apocrypha?
In most countries, nowhere right now: it left Netflix at the end of March 2026. Aniplex of America's English-dub Blu-rays are the legal way to watch it. It isn't on this list because its leads are teenagers; Astolfo is on our characters list.
Can I watch femboy anime for free?
Less easily than a year ago, since Crunchyroll's free tier ended. In India and Southeast Asia, Muse Asia's YouTube channel streams some licensed shows free. Otherwise, Crunchyroll's seven-day trial is enough for Princess Jellyfish twice.
If you love these characters, this is what we're building
Here's the part where we tell you what we do.
Pocket Femboy is an app for talking to femboys, not watching them: a small cast of original characters, every one an adult, each with a job, friends, a look of their own and a life that keeps going while you're not there. They remember what you tell them, they text you first when something happens, and they warm up to you over time the way a real person would.
The best characters on this page had lives before the camera turned up. Kuranosuke has a family to escape, Kinosaki has a career in cons, Lin has a ramen stall and a day job nobody should ask about. That's what we're building. Jax, the first one we finished, is a 21-year-old record-shop punk who plays bass badly on purpose and isn't especially nice to you at first.
After launch comes the part we're most excited about: creating your own. The knight in frills, the con artist, the designer with a persona: you'll be able to build a femboy of your own, give them a life, and talk to them. The characters on this page belong to their creators, so they won't be in the app. The kind of character you love watching can be.
Pocket Femboy hasn't launched yet, so there's nothing to download today. It's 18+ at the door — that's about who we let in, not about what's inside — and there's no explicit content on any tier.
Coming soon to iPhone and Android. Join the waitlist and we'll let you know when they're ready to talk.
