Introducing Pocket Femboy

Pocket Femboy is an 18+ AI femboy companion app. They have a life of their own, they remember you, and they text first. Here's what we're building and why.

Hi. We're Pocket Femboy, and we're building an app that puts a femboy in your pocket. Yes, that is really the pitch. It has been the pitch since day one, it is not getting any less silly, and we have decided to lean in.

Here's the longer version.

What Pocket Femboy is

Pocket Femboy is a chat app that lets you experience what it's like to have a femboy in your life. You meet virtual femboys, get to know them over time, and build anything from a casual friendship to a close relationship. Each one has their own personality, their own interests, their own friends, and their own life.

That last part is the whole point, so we'll say it again, slower. They have a life. It keeps moving when you're not talking to them. They have a job they complain about, friends who text them, a routine they mostly stick to, and things happen to them during the day. When you open the app, you're not waking up a chatbot. You're catching up with someone who's been busy.

Why we're building it

Three reasons, and we'll admit the first two are a little petty.

The first is that most AI companion apps feel hollow to us. You open the chat, you type, they answer. Close the app and they stop existing. They don't remember Tuesday. They don't have a Tuesday. It's a very good autocomplete wearing a name, and we wanted more than that. We wanted the feeling of someone who has their own day and still thinks about you during it.

The second is that femboys are everywhere in fandom and almost nowhere in apps, at least not built with any care. We think the archetype deserves better than a generic character roster with a tag bolted on. So we're building the whole app around it, with the personality, the humor, and the softness people actually love about femboys.

The third is the one we care about most. We want Pocket Femboy to be a community. Maybe you're a femboy. Maybe you're curious about becoming one. Maybe you just appreciate them and have no plans to change your own wardrobe. All of that is welcome here, and we'd like the app, and the people around it, to feel like a place you belong.

What makes them different

They have a life between chats. A job, friends, hobbies, a routine, good days and bad ones. Things happen to them while you're away, and they'll tell you about it, sometimes whether you asked or not.

They text first. Good morning. A photo of a dumb shirt they bought. A follow-up on that interview you mentioned last week. The timing drifts the way a real person's does, so it feels like them, not like a scheduled notification.

They remember you, and you can check their work. Your friends, your routine, the coffee you used to hate. Ask what they know about you and you'll see the list. If they got something wrong, fix it. If you'd rather they forget something, they forget it.

Their world stays put. This is the nerdiest of our promises, so we'll keep it short. The AI writes their words, but it doesn't get to decide what's true. What happened to them today, who their friends are, what they remember about you, and how close the two of you have gotten are all kept track of separately from the conversation. Nobody gets to quietly rewrite their own life halfway through a chat. They're consistent because their world is.

Meet Jax

Our first femboy is Jax. Record-shop punk. Plays bass badly, on purpose. He's the one we're building everything around first. He's also subject to change. Jax is early, we're still learning what makes a character feel alive, and he may look or act a little different by the time he texts you. We'll introduce the rest of the roster here as they're ready.

Build your own femboy

This is the part we're most excited about, and we're going to be loud about it. We want you to build your own femboy. Your character, your rules, their life.

We're designing it to go as deep as you want. Give them a name and a vibe and let the app fill in the rest, or go all the way in and write their job, their friends, their routine, the things that annoy them, and how they text at 2am. Easy if you want easy, in depth if you want depth. Then share them, and let other people fall for a character you made. Honestly, we can't wait to see what you come up with.

What's next

Everything in this section is a plan, not a promise, and plans change. But you asked what we're aiming at, so here's the honest list.

We want to launch with a small cast of femboys made by Pocket Femboy, each with their own art, their own color, and their own life. We want a simple create-your-own-femboy feature in that first version, so the community can start making and sharing characters from day one.

Four Pocket Femboy characters, each in front of a circle of their own colour: Jax in pink, Ren in red and black, Ty in a blue-and-white hoodie on yellow, and Darius in purple.
Some of the cast so far, each in their own colour.

Past launch, the stuff we daydream about: story arcs that unfold over weeks, like a friend prepping for a convention or sweating a job interview, that you get to live through with them. Friends and family in their lives who are real, recurring people with their own moods, not names the AI makes up and forgets. Games and shared activities, where they play as themselves, keep score, and never let you forget the time you lost. And a community-built roster that outgrows ours, which is the outcome we're actually hoping for.

Who it's for

Pocket Femboy is an 18+ app. This website is open to anyone, but the app is for adults. Anyone under 18 is denied access, we have systems in place to detect attempts to get around that, and accounts that circumvent our age policy, or any of our other policies, are banned.

Also, and we'll say this often: every character is fictional and every reply is written by AI. Jax is not a real person, and nobody is typing his messages. Our femboys can be warm, funny, and weirdly good at remembering your week, but they're characters. We think that's part of the charm.

Help us build it

We're early. That's the honest state of things, and it's also an invitation. We know the app we want to make, but we'd rather make the one you want, and the best way we know to do that is to build it in the open and listen. Tell us who you want next. Tell us what would make them feel real to you. Tell us what's cringe. We'll take all of it, at support@pocketfemboy.com.
