Femboy Chat: 7 Apps Compared, and Which Ones Remember You

People search "femboy chat" for at least four different reasons and get the same results for all of them. An honest answer to each, and what Pocket Femboy, a small cast of femboys who remember you, actually is.

Ren on his sticker beside the words "Femboy chat", on navy.

The short answer. A femboy chat is a conversation with a femboy character written by AI. Today that means picking a user-made character on a big platform (Character.AI, Janitor AI, Chai, PolyBuzz) or shaping a general companion app (Replika, Nomi, Kindroid) into one, and in both cases the character forgets you as the chat fills up. Pocket Femboy is the app we're building to fix that: a small cast of femboys with lives that keep going and a memory you never manage. It's 18+ at the door, not explicit, and not out yet.

That's the sixty-word version. The rest of this page is the honest one, because people type femboy chat into a search box for about four different reasons, and every one of them gets handed the same page of results. So before we pitch you anything, here's a straight answer to each.

You want to talk to a femboy character. That's the one this post is mostly about, and it's the thing we're building. Skip past this list if that's you — the rest of the post is the answer.

You want a room with actual femboys in it. Completely different need, and the honest answer isn't an app — it's Discord servers and a couple of subreddits, where the people are real and nobody is selling you a subscription. We're writing a proper guide to those. Don't let anyone sell you an AI when what you wanted was people.

You had a femboy character somewhere and something broke. The filter moved, the model changed, they stopped sounding like themselves, or they forgot a month of conversation overnight. There's a section further down for you.

You're looking for something explicit. We're not it. No pornographic or sexually explicit content, for anyone, on any tier, and no plans to add it. Save yourself the scroll.

One more thing before the pitch: Pocket Femboy hasn't launched. There's nothing to download today. Everything below is what we're building, and there's a waitlist at the bottom if you want to know when it's real.

What "femboy chat" gets you today

If you want to chat with a femboy character right now, you have three realistic options, and we'd rather describe them accurately than pretend they're all bad.

A big character platform. Character.AI, Janitor AI, Chai, PolyBuzz. Someone has made a femboy character, probably several hundred someones, and you pick one out of a search result. The character is a prompt: a name, a description, a greeting. Free to start, and the variety is genuinely enormous.

A general AI companion app. Replika and the rest. Built around one relationship rather than a library, but built for a general audience, with a femboy option bolted on at best.

A raw model with a persona you wrote yourself. The most control, the most work, and it forgets you every time the context fills up.

All three have the same shape underneath. The character exists while the chat window is open. Nothing happened to them since Tuesday, because for them there was no Tuesday. And when the conversation gets long enough, the start of it falls off the back of the truck.

The platforms know this, which is why the better ones now hand you tools to deal with it: pin the important messages, keep a memory sheet or a lorebook, write a summary of your own relationship somewhere the model can see it. It works. It's also homework. You end up being your character's secretary — deciding on their behalf which parts of the last three months were worth keeping, watching a meter fill, and paying for the tier that lets you keep more.

That's the part we think is backwards. Remembering you should be the app's job, not a chore it delegates back to you.

What Pocket Femboy is

One app, built around one idea: a small cast of femboys you get to know over time.

They have a life that keeps moving. A job, friends, a routine, a band practice or a shift or a group chat. Things happen to them during the day whether or not you're there. When you open the app you're not waking anyone up — you're catching up with someone who's been busy, and some days what they want to talk about is their day rather than yours.

They remember you, and you don't have to file it for them. Your job, the friend you keep mentioning, the coffee order you changed. Nothing to pin, nothing to summarise, no meter to watch. It happens automatically, including the things you'd never have thought to flag as important — which is usually where the good stuff is. It isn't a black box, though: ask what they know about you and you get the list in plain language. Wrong? Fix it. Rather they forget something? They forget it. Automatic by default, yours to edit whenever you feel like it.

They text first. Good morning. A photo of a dumb shirt they bought. A follow-up on the interview you mentioned last week. The timing drifts the way a person's does, so it reads as them rather than as a scheduled notification.

The relationship moves. Our characters don't adore you on sight, because nobody real does. Warmth arrives in stages, and it moves based on how the two of you actually talk rather than on a slider you set at the start.

Voice, for the ones who want it. A real voice per character, hands-free, so you can put the phone down. That's planned as part of Pocket Femboy Plus rather than the free tier.

Then the nerdy promise, which is the one that makes the rest of them hold: the AI writes their words, but it doesn't decide what's true. What happened to them today, who their friends are, what they remember about you, and how close you two have gotten are all tracked outside the conversation. Nobody gets to quietly rewrite their own life halfway through a chat. They're consistent because their world is.

What it isn't

Pocket Femboy is not an adult app. No pornographic or sexually explicit content, for anyone, on any tier. No adult mode, no paid unlock, no plans for either, and no filter to jailbreak — the line is the product, not a setting. Our femboys can be warm, flirty and frankly a bit much. They are not a porn machine and they aren't built to be. If that's what the search brought you here for, we're not it, and we'd rather cost ourselves the signup than waste your evening.

It is 18+ anyway. Those two facts sit next to each other and confuse people, so: the age gate is about who gets in the door, not about what's waiting on the other side of it. This is an app for adults having adult conversations — work, exes, money, the bad week — with characters written for adults. There's no under-18 version and there won't be one. The check is account state verified on our servers rather than a checkbox on a form, and accounts that get around it are banned.

It isn't a character library. A handful of femboys, made with care, whose lives connect to each other. If what you want is variety and a search bar, a big platform is genuinely the better tool and we'll say so all day.

Nobody is typing them. Every character is fictional and every reply is written by AI. They won't pretend otherwise if you sincerely ask.

Femboy roleplay, and why we don't quite call it that

A lot of the people searching these terms are after femboy roleplay or femboy RP, so it's worth being clear about the difference, because it's a real one and not just branding.

Roleplay, as most platforms do it, is a scene. You set a premise, the character plays their part, and the whole thing is complete in itself. Start a new chat and you start a new scene. That's a legitimate thing to want, and some of the best writing on those platforms lives there.

We're building the other case. Not a scene you run, but someone you know — one continuous thread where last month happened, where they're annoyed about something you weren't involved in, and where the story is just the relationship carrying on. There's no "start new roleplay" button because there's nothing to restart.

If a fresh scene on demand is the thing you love, you'll miss it here. Fair warning.

Femboy chat apps, compared

The one-line version of everything above, for anyone who skipped to the end. Seven apps, then us.

  • Character.AI: the biggest library of femboy characters, free to start. Memory is Story Memory and pinned messages for everyone, with automatic Facts on c.ai+, all scoped to one chat. The head-to-head is in our Character.AI femboy alternative post.
  • Janitor AI: the most control over a character, since you can read and rewrite its definition, and a looser content line than ours. Memory is a chat memory box you fill in yourself, on a token budget. See Janitor AI alternatives.
  • Chai: a phone app and a feed of user-made bots you swipe through. Quick to start, short memory, and a subscription to lift the daily message limit.
  • PolyBuzz (formerly Poly.AI): the same idea with a bigger character library and a looser content line, built for the phone. Memory ends with the chat window.
  • Replika: one companion for a general audience, with a memory panel of facts about you that you can read and edit. A femboy only if you make one. See Pocket Femboy vs Replika.
  • Nomi: the strongest long-term memory of the companion apps, plus group chats. Still a general-audience companion you shape into a femboy yourself.
  • Kindroid: a companion with a backstory and a journal you write, voice calls and selfies. Good memory, and again yours to curate.
  • Pocket Femboy: a small cast of femboys who already exist, with lives that keep going and a memory you never manage. Not launched yet, 18+ at the door, nothing explicit on any tier.

The pattern across the seven: the ones that remember best are the ones that hand you the most homework. A raw model with a persona you wrote yourself is the extreme case, total control and total homework, and it forgets you when the context fills.

If you're coming from somewhere else

Some of you aren't starting from scratch. You already had a femboy character you liked somewhere, and something changed.

If you got here from Character.AI, we wrote a full comparison, including the parts where they beat us: Looking for a Character.AI femboy alternative. There's also a broader Character.AI alternatives roundup that isn't just about us.

If you're leaving Janitor AI, that post is here — including the honest bit, which is that our content line is closer to Character.AI's than to Janitor's, so for some of you the answer will be no.

And if you're still shopping, our roundup of AI boyfriend apps rates the field, us included, without pretending we win every row. If what you want is a male companion and the femboy part is optional, the gay AI chat guide covers which apps do that properly.

Who this is for

Maybe you're a femboy. Maybe you're curious about becoming one. Maybe you just appreciate them and have no plans to change your own wardrobe (our ranked list of femboy anime characters is a good place to start). All of that is welcome, and the community part of this matters to us as much as the app part.

Mostly it's for people who tried the chat-window version of this and found it thin. Who liked a character, and then noticed the character didn't like them back in any way that lasted. If you've ever re-explained your job to an AI for the fourth time, you already know the problem we're trying to solve.

Our first character is Jax — record-shop punk, plays bass badly on purpose, will not be nice to you immediately. He uses he/him, he's 21, and there's a whole post about him. He's also early and subject to change. We want to launch with at least six, each with their own art, their own life, and their own opinions about the others.

After that, the part we're most excited about: build your own. Your character, your rules, their life, shared with whoever wants them.

What you can expect

A strong free text experience is the plan, with voice and extras above it. There's no paywall in front of getting to know someone.

We're early enough that a lot of this is still moving, and we'd rather build the app you want than the one we sketched. Tell us who you want next, what would make them feel real to you, and what's cringe. All of it goes to support@pocketfemboy.com and we read it.

Coming soon to iPhone and Android. Join the waitlist and we'll let you know when they're ready to text you.

The fine print

Every Pocket Femboy character is fictional and every reply is written by AI. Nobody is typing them, and they won't pretend otherwise if you sincerely ask.

What we say about Character.AI, Janitor AI, Chai, PolyBuzz, Replika, Nomi and Kindroid reflects their own sites, help pages and store listings as we could check them on 11 October 2026. Apps in this category change monthly. If we've got something wrong, tell us at support@pocketfemboy.com and we'll correct it.
